We offer an interesting partner programme for all those who do not attend the conference and will show you the most interesting places in the cities of Bremen and Bremerhaven.

The final programme will be published in April and depends on a sufficient number of participants. The preliminary partner programme is as follows.

Monday, 19 May 08

In the morning we offer you a guided sightseeing bus tour around Bremen. After lunch in the city centre you are welcome to join a guided walk to the places of interest in the historic centre of the Hanseatic City of Bremen.

In the evening all conference delegates and their partners are invited to a reception at the Bremen Town Hall, built between 1405 and 1410 and having UNESCO World Heritage status.

Tuesday, 20 May 08

The whole day will be dedicated to a visit in Bremerhaven, the city that was founded in 1827 in order to give Bremen a port area close to the North Sea. The bus will take you from the hotel to Bremerhaven where a guided tour is arranged. Lunch is served in the old fishery port of Bremerhaven, which nowadays is a lively tourist area dedicated to fishing. After lunch, the bus takes you to the Emigration Centre Bremerhaven, Europe’s largest theme museum specialising on the topic of historical emigration.

In the evening all conference delegates and their partners are invited to the conference dinner in the Park Hotel.

Wednesday, 21 May 08

The day will be at your own disposal. Maybe you would like to do some shopping in the nearby city centre, to visit one of the interesting museums or to have a walk in the large park (B├╝rgerpark) opposite the Park Hotel.
